Dr. R. Vaughan Massie is in his 20th year working with the USC Aiken student-athletes.

Massie, a 1995 graduate of Rhodes College, earned his M.D. at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 2000. After a surgical internship at Methodist Hospital, Massie completed his residency in 2005 at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tenn.

A one-year fellowship followed at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Ga., from 2005-06.

Since 2006, Massie has been the team physician for USC Aiken. Additionally, he is the team physician for Aiken H.S., South Aiken H.S. and Silver Bluff H.S. Massie works in the orthopaedics division at Carolina Musculoskeletal Institute.
