Corey brings a very diverse background to the USC Aiken Team.  

Burns, along with Kristin Allen, helped form the USC Aiken Spirit Squad prior to the 2020-21 academic year. The team combined all aspects of cheer and dance into one unified team.
 
In high school he was the first male jazz company dancer at the nationally known Southern Strutt Dance Studio. He was also active in many sports growing up. He went on to choreograph and perform on live TV as well as teach and perform at dance conventions all over the United States. He has choreographed for high school and college dance teams, pageants, plays, halftime shows, studio competitions, weddings, banquets, and televised fundraisers.

Along with Angie Osbon, in 1995 they founded the USC Aiken Dance Team. He is a Les Mills Certified fitness instructor. He has been an elementary school teacher, assistant principal, and principal in SC public schools. He has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from USC Aiken and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from South Carolina. He is the director of Burns Dance Studio in Aiken where he lives with his wife and kids.
