Brent Hager is in his 13th year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications at USCA, where he leads the strategic communication efforts for all 10 varsity teams and the Spirit Squad.
In his role, Hager oversees a comprehensive media operation that includes video streaming, website management, social media strategy, and publicity. Under his leadership, USC Aiken has transformed its digital footprint—evolving from limited event streaming to full-scale broadcasts of every home sporting event, including marquee competitions such as the prestigious Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.
A seasoned leader in collegiate athletics, Hager has served as a mentor through CoSIDA/College Sports Communicators for the past eight years, guiding the next generation of sports communication professionals. He currently serves on a regional advisory committees (RAC) and has been an active member of a national panel for CSC.
Throughout his career, Hager has worked with seven national champions (two in Division I, two in Division II and three in the NCCAA), and has worked closely with an Olympian, over 70 All-Americans, and numerous professional athletes drafted into the NFL, NBA, MLS, and MLB. He has also worked with a three-time Pro Bowl selection and multiple National Coach, Player, and Freshman of the Year honorees at both the Division I and II levels
Hager’s storytelling has garnered national recognition, including top honors for District 3 in the Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest. He was also involved with publicizing a viral moment that earned ESPN No. 1 Play of the Day and was featured on ESPN’s College Football Gameday.
In addition to his media and publicity efforts, Hager has played a pivotal role in USC Aiken’s historical archiving project—digitizing decades of rosters, schedules, results, bios, and over 500 photo galleries from the previous 30-plus years, preserving the rich heritage of Pacer Athletics.
Throughout his career, he has worked in the ACC, Atlantic Sun, Big South, Peach Belt and WVIAC.
Beyond USC Aiken, Hager has worked with athletic departments and conferences across all NCAA divisions, the NAIA, and junior colleges—including institutions from the ACC, Big 12, Ivy League, CAA, Conference USA, and more—offering his expertise in communications strategy, archival development, and media operations.
Hager holds degrees in business administration (accounting) and sport management, along with an M.B.A.
