Joanna Reitz is in her second year as the assistant women's basketball coach at USC Aiken.

Reitz coached Kassy Johannsen, who established the school record for career blocks. Reitz, who mainly worked with the guards, saw Rachelle Aupont bury five fourth-quarter three-pointers in a come-from-behind victory over NCAA Tournament participant Lander. She helped guide the Pacers to a win over fellow NCAA Tournament foe Wingate.

Reitz came to USC Aiken after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Southern Conference member Mercer. With the Bears, she was responsible for working with the guards in addition to year-to-year in-season scheduling.

Prior to her stint with Mercer, Reitz spent two seasons at Shorter. There, she helped guide the team to a 28-7 mark and an NAIA Sweet Sixteen berth during the 2011-12 season. During her second season with the Hawks, Reitz guided the team to an 18-13 record and the NCCAA South Region Tournament Championship.

While at Shorter, she was the recruiting coordinator, director of scouting and worked with the guards and post players. She had two student-athletes garner NAIA All-America honors.

Prior to Shorter, Reitz began her coaching career as a graduate assistant and Director of Recruiting Operations at Florida State. During her time with the Seminoles, Reitz was involved in all aspects of the program including, recruiting, marketing, operations and compliance. She helped guide the team to a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season championships as well as an Elite Eight appearance in 2010.

Reitz had a successful playing career at Covenant College. She was a three-time team captain and earned first-team all-conference accolades. Reitz was a three-time academic all-AAC honoree. She helped Covenant earn the AAC Champions of Character award in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and was a two-time NAIA Scholar Athlete.

Reitz graduated from Covenant in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in natural science before earning a pair of master’s degrees in physical education (2007) and business administration (2010) from Florida State.
