Britney Guy

5/15/24

Britney Guy is in her fourth season as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at USC Aiken.

In 2022-23, Guy helped the team reach the NCAA Tournament as the No. 6 seed, marking the first time USC Aiken earned a bid to the postseason tournament since the 2012-13 season. Behind all-region selection Emily Trushel, the team went 18-12 overall and registered a 12-6 mark in league play. USC Aiken swept North Georgia during the regular season and boasted a pair of all-conference selections in Trushel (first team) and Jentri Worley (third team).

The Pacers posted a pair of games that rank in the top 10 in school history for points scored in a quarter - 30 against Georgia Southwestern and 28 against Flagler.

While playing with one of the youngest teams in the country, the 2021-22 team established a school record in the 58-35 win at Georgia College on Jan. 12. The squad did not give up a point in the second quarter against the Bobcats, marking the fewest points allowed in a quarter in school and PBC history. In fact, four times during the season, the defense allowed less than six points in a frame.

Before coming to USC Aiken Guy spent the previous two years at West Virginia Wesleyan College. During her time with the Bobcats, Guy helped the team reach the MEC Tournament quarterfinals after going on the road and knocking off West Virginia State. She helped produce seven MEC Commissioner Honor Roll athletes and five MEC academic all-conference selections.

At Thomas University, Guy led the team to a conference tournament appearance in 2017. During her time with the program, she worked with one all-conference performer and a pair of NAIA scholar-athletes.

Guy worked with all facets of the programs, including planning, organizing and conducting practices, scouting, recruiting, analyzing game film, monitoring academic eligibility and coordinating travel arrangements for road games. She also assisted with overseeing the budget and fundraising as well as participating in community outreach activities.

Guy was a four-year student-athlete at Lincoln Memorial. As a senior, she was tabbed the Lincoln Memorial Woman Breakthrough Athlete of the Year after leading the team in assists and being the Lady Railsplitters’ second-leading scorer. As a senior, she picked up SAC Player of the Week accolades on Jan. 18.

Guy is a member of the WBCA and participated in A Step-Up symposium and an online seminar.

She finished her Luella H.S. playing career as the school’s all-time leading scorer.

“We are excited to have her join our program, head coach Mark Miller said. “Her energy and enthusiasm are a welcome addition to the team. Britney has strong recruiting ties to the Southeast and knows the teams in our region very well. She will have an immediate impact on our team and in our league.”

Guy graduated with a degree in exercise science from Lincoln Memorial. She earned her MBA at Thomas University.
