Lindsey Jones is in her third year as an assistant coach at USC Aiken.
In her second year at USC Aiken, Lyndie Dorgan tied the school record for single runs in a game while Sydney Kate Murphy tied the school record for round-trippers in a game. She coached Brielle Jungblut, who registered a team-best .366 batting average, including nearly .500 on balls put in play.
During her first season, Jones helped guide the Pacers to an NCAA Tournament berth. Coaching the hitters, Jones helped the squad tie the school record for home runs (37). At the plate, her team tied the PBC record for grand slams in a game and tied a school record with a four-homer barrage in the PBC semifinal win over Young Harris.
“We are excited for Lindsey to be a part of the USC Aiken family,” Snyder said. “She was an invaluable student-athlete for four years with us. Her ability to connect with the student-athletes is outstanding and her knowledge of the game will benefit our team. Lindsey will help USC Aiken continue on the path we’ve been on and will help us get to the next level.”
Jones is a graduate of USC Aiken, having earned a bachelor of art in history.
She was a four-year student-athlete for USC Aiken from 2009-13. Jones was a three-year captain and led the Peach Belt Conference in assists in 2010. The USC Aiken Athletic Department Freshman of the Year in 2010 was also named to the league’s all-tournament team that same season. A two-time Freshman of the Week, Jones garnered PBC Player of the Week honors in 2011 and was an all-conference performer as a senior.
Jones worked with the North Augusta H.S. softball team in 2015, assisting the junior varsity and varsity programs. She helped players with their techniques and physical conditioning, enabling the players to progress.
“It feels great to be able to coach at my alma mater,” Jones said. “I am thankful to Coach Snyder for giving me the opportunity to work with the USC Aiken softball team. I am excited about working with a team that has a lot of quality student-athletes on it.”
Jones will work primarily with the infield.
