Biography

2007-08 (JUNIOR SEASON): Named to the PING All American Second Team as well to the 2008 Peach Belt All-Conference Team…Led the team for a second straight season in scoring with a 73.1 stroke average, the fifth best single season record in school history…Now holds three of the top 15 positions for all-time season scoring… Took second at the PBC Championship… Placed 10th individually at the NCAA Division II Championship tournament…Led the pacers in scoring in seven of the 14 events played…Earned eight top 10 finishes and 12 top 20 finishes on the season…Named to the 18-member Jack Nicklaus Award Watch List…Led Mexico to a silver medal by tying for fourth place in the World University Games in 2007.

2006-07 (SOPHOMORE SEASON): Selected PING All-American Honorable Mention... Led the team in scoring with a 73.59 stroke average, the 13th best single season in school history...Was the Pacers’ top finisher in seven of 12 events played...Selected to the NCAA Southeast All-Region Team...Named Peach Belt All-Conference...Earned seven top 10 finishes on the year, and placed inside the top 20 in 10 of 12 tournaments...Keyed by a second round of 65, Diaz claimed medalist honors at the Palmetto Intercollegiate...For his efforts, he was named GolfWorld’s National Player of the Week on March 26.

2005-06 (FRESHMAN SEASON): After joining the team in January, Diaz turned in the best single season ever by a Pacer freshman with a 73.37 scoring average in 27 rounds...His year ranks eighth on the school’s all-time single season scoring list...Finished third on the team in stroke average...Named to the PING All-American Third-Team... Selected to the prestigious five-member NCAA Division II National All-Freshmen squad...Earned Peach Belt All-Conference accolades...Awarded the program’s third PBC Freshman of the Year in the past four seasons...Selected to the NCAA Division II Southeast All-Region team...In his nine events played, Diaz finished inside the top 20 in eight of them including five inside the top five...With rounds of 71, 71, 73, and 69, Diaz placed fourth at the NCAA Division II National Championship in Daniels, W.Va., helping USCA to its third-straight NCAA Title...He was the highest finishing freshman in the field and was just three strokes back of Dane Burkhart and four back of the medalist...Finished as the runner-up to teammate Scott Brown at the NCAA Southeast Regional on May 1-3 and tied for seventh at the 2006 PBC Championships...Won his first-ever collegiate event, sharing medalist honors with Brown at the Presbyterian Intercollegiate...Again tied Brown for top honors on at the Bobcat Invitational.

HERITAGE ACADEMY: Highly recruited prospect out of high school...Attended the International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, S.C....Also a standout soccer player in high school.
