Biography

2007-08 (JUNIOR SEASON): Competed in just six rounds for the Pacers averaging 78.0 to put him eighth on the team in scoring… Competed in only two events due to a very competitive environment on the team.

2006-07 (SOPHOMORE SEASON):
After missing much of the season, Giftos played in the first and last tournaments of the spring for the Pacers...Competing in the NCAA Southeast Region Tournament, he was second on the team with a three-day total of 235, tying for 17th for his fifth career top 20 finish.

2005-06 (FRESHMAN SEASON):
In his first collegiate season, was fourth on the team in stroke avearge at 75.39, helping USC Aiken to its third-straight NCAA National Championship...His four top 20’s and two top 10’s tied him for fourth on the squad...Joined All-Americans Scott Brown and Dane Burkhart as the only Pacers to see action in all 38 rounds...Best finish of tied for third came at the Division I Raines Development Group Intercollegiate on September 19-20...Another top five came at the Presbyterian Intercollegiate...Giftos showed remarkable poise in a pair of Division I events, placing 17th in the Adams Cup of Newport and tying for 13th at the Palmetto Intercollegiate...His best round of the year came at the most important moment, the final round of the 44th NCAA Division II National Championship, where his four-under-par 68 helped the Pacers hold off a Columbus State charge.

HERITAGE ACADEMY: The New Hampshire native attended the prestigious International Junior Golf Association’s (IJGA) Heritage Academy in Hilton Head, S.C...Posted a 72.0 stroke average as a senior...Won four IJGA events in his career...Captured back-to-back New Hampshire State Junior Championships...Rated 18th in the United States by Golfweek Junior Rankings... Heavily recruited by Purdue, Kentucky, and Georgia, the 2005 NCAA Division I National Champions...Qualified with Pacer teammate Dane Burkhart for the 105th United States Amateur in summer of 2005...Finished in the top-third of the field tying for 114th.
