Biography

2005-06 (JUNIOR SEASON): Helped lead the Pacers to their third-straight NCAA Division II National Championship...Can become the only golfer in the modern era of NCAA Golf to win four National Championships...Fifth on the team in scoring average at 75.56...Competed in nine of 13 events on the season... All four of Smith’s top 20 finishes came against Division I competition...Tied for ninth at the Palmetto Intercollegiate with rounds of 72, 74, and 71...Finished tied for 10th at The Adams Cup of Newport and placed 12th at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate...In the team’s second event of the fall season, Smith tied for 16th in helping the Pacers to the team title at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate in Florence, S.C...Currently ranks 13th on the school’s career scoring list with a 74.65 stroke average.

2004-05 (SOPHOMORE SEASON): Honorable mention PING All-American...NCAA Southeast All-Region honoree...Third on the team with a 73.96 stroke average, the 16th best single season in USC Aiken history...Six top 20 finishes after sitting out the fall semester...Won fi rst career event at the BMW Intercollegiate...Finished in top 20 at 2005 Peach Belt Conference Championship, NCAA Southeast Regional, and NCAA Division II Championship.

2003-04 (FRESHMAN SEASON): Had one of the best seasons ever by a USC Aiken freshman, leading the team in stroke average at 74.44...Became the program’s second straight PBC Freshman of the Year...Honorable mention PING All-American...NCAA Southeast All-Region...PBC All-Conference selection...Led team with nine top 20 finishes...His tied for sixth place finish at NCAA Championship was second best on the team helping the Pacers to their first-ever NCAA Title.

HIGH POINT CENTRAL: Three-time All-Conference selection (2000-03)...Two-time conference Player of the Year...As a senior finished sixth at the North Carolina State Championship...Three AJGA top fi ves.
