Biography

1996-97 Led the Pacers in scoring at a 13.8 a game clip...Posted 20 games with 11 or more points and four games with 22 or more points...Smith was rewarded the starting spot the final 13 games of the season and increased his game to a 17.2 points and 5.6 rebounds a game...For the season he started 17 of the 27 games played...His .478 field goal percentage ranked him sixth in the PBAC...Hit 26 three-pointers on the season, which was third on the team...Smith made his indention on the USCA career record book as he is now third on the career points list with 948, third on the rebounds list with 343, third on the three-pointers made list with 85, third with 256 three-point attempts, second with 85 career steals and fourth on the career blocked shots list with 47...Scored a season high 26 points on 10 of 18 shooting at Anderson College...Posted two double-doubles on the season (at UNC Pembroke with 25 points and 11 rebounds and vs. Francis Marion with 18 points and 10 rebounds)...Hit for 25 points and grabbed six rebounds at Columbus State...Had 22 points, five steals and five rebounds at USC Spartanburg...Dished out nine assists and scored 17 points vs. Morris College...Scored 17 points in a key victory over nationally ranked Georgia College.

1995-96 Second on the team in scoring with a 11.8 game average…  Started 18 of the 26 games played… His 21 blocks (0.8 per game) ranked him seventh in the PBAC… He connected on 36 three pointers, had 26 steals and dished out 59 assists, which was second on the team… Set a career high of 30 points on 11 of 18 shooting with five 3 pointers against Augusta State... Had 24 points and six rebounds in a win against Newberry… Posted 21 points, while leading the Pacers over Francis Marion… Had double figures in points 17 times.
 
1994-95 Played in 27 games while starting 22 as a freshman… Hit 23 out of 70 three-pointers for a 32.9 percentage… Averaged 9.9 points and 4.3 rebounds…. Season high was 23 against Presbyterian College… Scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds at Kennesaw State…Had 20 points and 10 rebounds at UNC Pembroke… Also had 20 points with four 3-pointers at home against Newberry… Second double figures in 11 of the 27 games.
 
HOKE HIGH SCHOOL Averaged 24 points, seven rebounds and three assists his senior season under coach Dan McGougan… Named player of the year in the Southeastern 4-A Conference, all-conference and honorable mention for All-State his senior season… Named all-conference first team his junior year and most improved player his sophomore season… Played on the 1993-94 conference basketball championship team… Also, lettered in football, while making the honor roll all three of the four years.
