David Strother is in his second year as Director of Player Development for the University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball team.
He is responsible for preparing student-athletes for personal, academic and athletic development success.
Strother, a former Pacer, garnered all-league accolades during the 2021-22 year while helping the program to a 17-12 record and a No. 4 seed in the PBC Tournament.
A native of Lumberton, N.C., Strother led the PBC in assist to turnover ratio as a freshman at UNC Pembroke. With the Braves, he guided the team to a pair of PBC Championships and helped the squad reach three NCAA Tournaments.
A 1,000-point scorer at UNC Pembroke, Strother wrapped up his collegiate career with 1,473 points, 447 assists and 469 rebounds. He accounted for 12.7 points, 4.0 assists and 3.9 boards per game during his career.
Strother completed his career with 89 wins.
