KENNEDY KING COLLEGE: Came to USC Aiken after playing two seasons at Kennedy King College in Chicago, Illinois ...Averaged 8.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game his sophomore year...Averaged 4.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.0 assist, and 1.0 steal as a freshman...Named Freshman Player of the Week.

WOODLAWN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: Scored 10.7 points per game as a senior for Woodlawn Senior High School in Baltimore, Maryland.. Added 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game...Named Most Improved Player his senior year...Played under head coach Bobby Richardson...Also played prep football...Did not miss a single day of school throughout his four years of high school.

PERSONAL: Arnold Coates, Jr. is the son of Arnold Coates, Sr. and Jonelle Hudson...He is majoring in Communications...His uncle is former New England Patriots tight end and five-time NFL Pro-Bowl selection, Ben Coates...Coates played 10 seasons (1991-2000) in the NFL, nine with New England and one with the Baltimore Ravens.
