2008 (Freshman): Started 61 games as a freshman at third base for USC Aiken…Ended campaign hitting .319…Held or tied for the team high in two major offensive categories…Aranas ended the year with a team-best five triples…The five triples were good for third in the Peach Belt Conference…Aranas tied teammate and Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year Chad Jacobsen for the team lead with 21 doubles…The 21 doubles saw the duo finish second in the category in the PBC…Aranas in total finished his freshman campaign with 82 hits and 54 runs scored…He had seven home runs…Aranas concluded the year with 21 multiple hit games…He was one of four Pacers to tally 10 or more multiple RBI games…Aranas had 12…He had five RBI performance to finish the year as one of four Pacers to record the feat…Aranas’ four 4 RBI games tied teammate Ken Raborn for the team lead in four-RBI games…Aranas had the second longest hitting streak of the 2008 season, hitting safely in 17 consecutive games for the Pacers at one point.
