2008 (Injured): Started four games before injury shut him down for season.

2007 (Freshman): Led all reserves as well as all freshmen in games played with 34...Started 10 contests, most coming at second base, batting .220 with 16 runs scored, two doubles, and five RBI...Committed only two errors in 67 changes for a .970 fielding percentage... Career game came on April 10 in a win over Benedict College... Went 2-for-5 with two RBI, three runs scored, and one walk... Key was 2-for-8 in pinch-hitting role...Had only other multiple-hit game against #6 Columbus State on April 15, going 2-for-3.

Silver Bluff High School: Awarded the team’s Best Defensive Player as a senior for the Bulldogs...Batted .419...As a junior, hit .428 and was named the squad’s Best Offensive Player...Posted a .368 average in his sophomore campaign in earning All-Region honors...Competed in the Georgia Games and won a championship with the East Cobb Cubs.

Personal: Matthew Mark Key is the son of Natalie Key...He is majoring in Industrial Mathematics.
