Biography

Matt played his high school ball at South Park (PA) under coach Bob Kaufman where he was three-time all-Sectional, two times all-State, and a Mizuno all-American. He also holds the Pennsylvania state record for consecutive scoreless innings and he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. Johnson is a Marketing major who hopes to play baseball professionally. Eight Men Out is his favorite movie and Sports center is his favorite TV show while he reads anything written by Anne Rice. Greg Maddux is his favorite athlete and he likes to play golf when not playing baseball. Matt relieved in 14- games for the Pacers last season with a 3-0 record, 3-saves and an E.R.A. of 3.97 with 31 strikeouts in 22.2 innings.
