Participated in football and baseball at Riverton High School… baseball coach was Don Alton… earned Competitor Award in football as senior… was team’s MVP and a unanimous all-conference selection in baseball… was a .448 career hitter… transferred from Lincoln Land Community College… baseball coach was Claude Kracik… hit .365 with 39 stolen bases in sophomore year… named to Illinois Region 24 All-Star team.
