USC Salkehatchie: Played his first two
collegiate seasons for the Allendale, S.C.
junior college...Batted .333 last year with
12 doubles, four triples, and five home
runs....Drove in 32 RBI...On the mound,
the versatile Owens notched four wins with a 5.59 ERA and
49 strikeouts...He was a two-time NJCAA Region X Pitcher of
the Week and once selected as the Player of the Week...As a
freshman, hit .283 and on the hill had two wins and a 4.75 ERA.
Southside High School: Owens earned All-Region recognition
as a junior in 2004 for the Tigers.
Personal: Gary Michael Owens is the son of Milton and Bianca
Owens...He is majoring in Industrial Mathematics.
