Biography

David played his high school ball at Egg Harbor Township (NJ) High School under Buddy Trean. Portscher was captain of his high school team as a junior and a senior and earned all-Press, all-Area and all-Cape Atlantic first team as his junior and senior years; As a senior, he also was named all-South Jersey, all-State and was a member of the 1992 Carpenter Cup Team. He is an Exercise/Biology major. His favorite athlete is Mike Piazza of the LA Dodgers for his work ethic and dedication. David hit .250 with 2 homeruns and 13 R-B-I in 1994 and improved to .283 in 1995.
