Batesburg-Leesville High: Selected as all-Region and all-Conference his senior year… Hit 10 homeruns and struck out 78 batters under coach Phil Strikland… His 10 homeruns led the state of South Carolina his senior year. Also, played on the state championship football team and named all-State, all-Region and all-Conference.
