Joe Marlow is in his second year on the coaching staff after a standout pitching career at USC Aiken.
In his first year on staff, Marlow coached PBC Pitcher of the Year and third-team All-American Joseph Benitez, who established school records for strikeouts and innings pitched and tied the record for wins with 11. Benitez and Connor Riley posted top-15 marks for strikeouts in a single season.
Marlow, a native of Kennesaw, Ga., won a team-best 10 games in 2016, garnering a 3.50 ERA while holding opponents to a .282 batting average. An honorable mention NCBWA all-region honoree, Marlow picked up second-team all-conference accolades. Arguably his best performance of the season came in the complete-game win in the NCAA Tournament against Tusculum. Marlow struck out four in the opening-game victory over the Pioneers.
As a junior, Marlow went 3-0 on the year while limiting opponents to a .165 batting average.
Before his arrival at USC Aiken, Marlow attended Georgia Perimeter College.
