Derek Beasley is in his third year as the pitching coach at USC Aiken.
In 2019, Beasley's weekend starting rotation was drafted, including Mitch Spence in the 10th round. Additionally, Zach Rafuse and Garvin Alston Jr., were also drafted. The squad combined to strike out 496 batters and limit the opposition to a .258 batting average.
During his first year with the program, his staff registered a 3.93 ERA. The group produced four shutouts and struck out 512 batters. The squad limited opponents to a .240 batting average. Christian Aragon earned all-conference honors while Mitch Spence's 117 strikeouts were among the top 10 in USC Aiken's Division II history.
Beasley, a native of Harlem, Ga., was one of the most efficient pitchers in USC Aiken history. A two-time first-team all-conference selection, he is second on the career list with 29 victories. Beasley notched a 29-13 record over four years while tossing 310.1 innings.
He struck out 292 batters, resulting in 8.47 strikeouts per game while boasting a 3.65 ERA. Beasley produced back-to-back nine-win seasons and struck out a career-high 89 batters two different years. His 52 career starts are the most in school history. As a junior, Beasley was an all-Southeast Region team selection by the ABCA, NCBWA and Daktronics.

th round by the Oakland Athletics with the 912
th pick of the MLB Draft.
