Played football, basketball and baseball at Jasper High School… baseball coach was Terry Colbert… earned all-state honors in football… attended Diney Central College and played baseball for Dennis Conley… batted .417 as freshman and .358 during sophomore season… named to all-conference and all-region teams… hit .320 for Pacers in 1991… had 4 HR’s and 40 RBI… led team with 9 sacrifice hits… had 13 doubles and 3 triples… had 7 games with 3 hits… hit homer and collected 6 RBI against Western Carolina… went 6 for 13 in NAIA Wolrd Series.
