Lettered in baseball for coach Paul Kane at Gaithersburg High School… member of National Honor Society… garnered all-met and all-county honors… selected Student-Athlete of the Year… was 2-1 with a 1.44 ERA as freshman… struck out 22 in 25 innings in 1990… had 4-2 mark as sophomore… his 2.09 ERA is best among returning pitchers… also earned 1 save in 1991… hurled two-hit shutout against Bristol… gave up two runs in 7 2/3 innings vs. Francis Marion in District 6 title game.
