MISSION STATEMENT
The USC Aiken Athletic Training Program employs the most current techniques and philosophies with regard to the treatment of athletic injuries. The services provided to the student-athletes of USC Aiken can be broken down into four primary types: injury prevention (taping, bracing, padding, conditioning/ nutritional education), management of athletic injuries, evaluation of athletic injuries, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. In addition, we strive to educate student-athletes about athletic injuries so that they may be better prepared to manage injuries and continue to pursue a healthy lifestyle. We are committed to deliver these services using whatever technology is available and affordable to our program. We will remain committed to the continuous upgrading of our equipment along with an abiding effort to augment staff knowledge and expertise with the latest techniques.
The purpose of this program is fourfold. First we hope to provide easy and timely access to athletic training services provided for the student-athletes of USC Aiken. Second, we hope to encourage a perspective of sport that places an emphasis on health and wellness. Third, we hope to enable the student-athlete to return to his/her respective sport as quickly and safely as medically possible. Finally, we hope to significantly reduce the risk of athletic injury for the student-athletes under the care of the USC Aiken Athletic Training Program.
The underlying philosophy of the USC Aiken Athletic Training Program is that the needs of the student-athletes will be the first consideration of the medical staff. Further more we expect that the athletic training staff providing these services maintain the highest standards of quality set fourth by the National Athletic Training Association Code of Professional Practice and the credentialing statues of South Carolina.
We are committed to the ongoing evaluation of our program so that the student-athletes can be assured of the highest quality in athletic training care. In addition, we are dedicated to addressing problems and concerns in a timely manner so the needs of our student-athletes and staff can continue to be met.
In conclusion, the USC Aiken Athletic Training Program aspires to become a program of established distinction. It is our intention to support the program with human and pecuniary resources necessary to accomplish the stated goals of the program. It is our goal to establish The USC Aiken Athletic Training Program as an exceptional means by which athletic training services are delivered.
