MCCORMICK, S.C. – The No. 15 USCA golf team cruised to a season-opening victory at the Savannah Lakes Men's Invitational. 

The Pacers won the tournament by shooting 34-under par, 830. USCA bested Wingate and North Georgia by 17 strokes. Georgia College shot 16-under par while Erskine was fifth at 15-under par. The Pacers posted scores of 13-under par, 17-under par and four-under par for their three-round total.  

The victory marked the program's first at a season-opening event since claiming the Kiawah Invitational to start the 2015-16 campaign. 

Head coach Michael Carlisle's team was led by four student-athletes - Cameron Baez, Mitchell McNeill, Jan Sustek and Ian Williams. The four shot seven-under par, 209, for their top-10 efforts. McNeill and Williams each shot two-under par, 70, during the final round of competition. 

Olivier Van Goor moved up 15 spots on Tuesday, tying for 27th. He shot two-under par, 70, for the final round en route to a one-under par, 215, finish.

The Pacers return to action Sept. 21-22 at the Lake Lanier Collegiate, which is hosted by North Georgia.
