AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA softball team lost a 10-0 decision to USC Beaufort Saturday evening in the first game of the three-game series.
The Pacers are now 26-25 on the season, including 10-15 in PBC play.
Head coach
Jaclin Poole's team trailed 10-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
Cassidy Neves entered as a pinch hitter and was hit by a pitch. However, a double play ended the threat.
USCA saw
Autumn Fisher earn a full-count walk in the fourth. However, she was erased on a fielder's choice, and a line drive ended the stanza.
Madilyn Rouse drew a walk to lead off the fifth and
Taylor Erb entered as a pinch runner. With two down,
Mollie Rollings also earned a walk.
Peri Rouillard took a 1-1 pitch into left field, loading the bases.
For the game, Rouillard recorded a single. Fisher, Rollings and Rouse drew walks.
In the circle,
Abbie Kegley pitched 2.2 innings and gave up 10 runs, but only two were earned. She had a strikeout.
Ally Fleming worked the next 2.1 innings and had three strikeouts.
