AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA women's soccer team lost a 4-0 decision to No. 5 North Georgia Saturday afternoon in PBC play.
The Pacers are now 4-2-1 on the season, including 1-1 in league play. The Nighthawks stand at 7-0-1 on the year and 3-0 against conference foes.
Head coach
Adam Kleman's team garnered a shot at the 15:57 mark by
Shy Iles, but it was saved. In the 19
th minute of action,
Savannah Yerger took a kick and launched it toward the frame. However, a solid stop by the keeper kept the contest scoreless.
Down 1-0 in the 35
th minute,
Ellie Thompson's shot was saved. A late goal by the Nighthawks made it 2-0 at halftime.
After intermission,
Lexi Blasberg had a header from eight yards out that narrowly missed the right side of the goal.
UNG tacked on two more scores for a 4-0 advantage. However, Kleman's team continued to battle.
Greta Ohlwein got free and booted an attempt that sailed just high of the crossbar in the 80
th minute of action.
For the match, Blasberg had a pair of shots. Yerger stopped 16 shots between the pipes while playing all 90 minutes.
