USCA Falls To No. 5 North Georgia

AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA women's soccer team lost a 4-0 decision to No. 5 North Georgia Saturday afternoon in PBC play.

The Pacers are now 4-2-1 on the season, including 1-1 in league play. The Nighthawks stand at 7-0-1 on the year and 3-0 against conference foes.

Head coach Adam Kleman's team garnered a shot at the 15:57 mark by Shy Iles, but it was saved. In the 19th minute of action, Savannah Yerger took a kick and launched it toward the frame. However, a solid stop by the keeper kept the contest scoreless.

Down 1-0 in the 35th minute, Ellie Thompson's shot was saved. A late goal by the Nighthawks made it 2-0 at halftime.

After intermission, Lexi Blasberg had a header from eight yards out that narrowly missed the right side of the goal.

UNG tacked on two more scores for a 4-0 advantage. However, Kleman's team continued to battle. Greta Ohlwein got free and booted an attempt that sailed just high of the crossbar in the 80th minute of action.

For the match, Blasberg had a pair of shots. Yerger stopped 16 shots between the pipes while playing all 90 minutes.

The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they host Clayton State at 7 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at PacerSports.com.
