DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The No. 4 USCA softball team lost a 6-4 contest to No. 5 Lander in the PBC quarterfinal Saturday.
The Pacers wrap up the season at 28-25.

Jaclin Poole's team jumped on top with a pair of runs in the third inning.
Ashlyn White recorded a lead-off single to second base and took second when
Peri Rouillard laid down a bunt single.
Autumn Fisher laid down a sacrifice bunt, pushing White and Rouillard up a base so both would be in scoring position.
Two batters later,
Mallory Shaver pelted a pitch for a single up the middle. The hard-hit ball drove in White and Rouillard for a 2-0 advantage. USCA had an opportunity to increase the lead as
Anna Turner walked. She and Shaver stole a base before
Lakyn Phillips drew a base on balls to load the bags. However, a pop-up ended the threat.
Lander scored an unearned run in the fourth and three more unearned runs in the fifth for a 4-2 advantage.
The Pacers battled back in the sixth. With one away, White was once again the catalyst. She tallied an infield hit and moved to second on a bunt single by Rouillard. Fisher also bunted, loading the bases.
Kate Newberry pulled the team within one with a base knock through the left side of the infield, which drove in White. Shaver lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, plating Rouillard while Fisher hustled to third. A pop-up ended the frame with the score tied at 4-4.
The Bearcats scored two more unearned runs in the seventh for the final score.
For the game, White led the way with three hits while Rouillard had two. Shaver drove in three runs while Newberry plated one. Rouillard and White each scored twice.
In the circle, Phillips went the distance and had six strikeouts. She gave up six unearned runs on five hits.
