USCA Completes The Sweep Of USC Beaufort

BEAUFORT, S.C. – The USCA baseball team completed the three-game sweep of USC Beaufort Sunday afternoon, winning 9-5.

The Pacers are now 22-27 on the season, including 11-16 in PBC play.

Head coach Michael Holder's team trailed 3-0 through four innings. However, for the third consecutive game, the squad had a huge inning. This time, USCA rattled off five runs.

With one down, Cannon Jones laid down a bunt single and took second on a walk to Josh Sharp. Capers Molinaroli's single plated Jones and he took second on the throw to put two in scoring position.

Wyatt McPherson singled, but Sharp was out at home to put runners on the corners. Jack Hobson launched a three-run shot over the left field wall for a 4-3 advantage.

Dalton Graves continued the inning with a base knock to right center field. Tyler Casciato singled to left field and Brandon Osypczuk followed it up with a base knock to the gap in right center field, driving in Graves for a two-run cushion.

The score remained the same until Holder's squad added to the lead in the ninth. Molinaroli led off the inning with a single to right center field and Gage Kirkland entered as a pinch runner. McPherson drew a walk to put two on before Hobson ripped a single to center field, knocking in Kirkland.

After a single by Dalton Graves, Casciato walked to push across McPherson for a 7-3 score. Osypczuk drove in Hobson before Trevor Gruszka's sacrifice fly plated Graves.

The Sand Sharks added two runs in the ninth for the final score.

For the game, Hobson and Molinaroli had three hits apiece. Hobson crushed a home run and drove in four. Graves tallied two hits and Osypczuk drove in two. Graves, Hobson and McPherson all scored twice.

On the mound, Cade Bouknight worked four frames and had two strikeouts. Jared Huse threw three innings and had three strikeouts to get the win. Cole Evilsizor worked the eighth while Charles Herring, Jr., tossed two-thirds of an inning while Jacob Bodkin recorded the final out.

The Pacers return to action Tuesday.
