AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA softball team lost a 2-0 decision to Augusta Friday evening in the first game of the three-game series.
The Pacers are now 21-22 on the season, including 9-10 in PBC play.
The Jaguars threatened in the top of the first, but a line drive double play from
Ashlyn White to
Kaliyah Hensic ended the threat.
With one away in the third,
Peri Rouillard laced a triple to right center field. Back-to-back outs completed the inning.
Head coach
Jaclin Poole's team trailed 2-0 in the fifth.
Tara McGee ripped a single up the middle but was erased on a fielder's choice.
Anna Turner and White were on first and second. However, a pop-up and a strikeout ended the threat.
For the game, Rouillard had a triple. Hensic,
Tara McGee and
Mollie Rollings all recorded base hits.
In the circle,
Ally Fleming got the start and went 2.1 innings. She had a strikeout.
Lakyn Phillips entered in relief and threw the final 4.2 innings and had six strikeouts.
