Avery List Nets Goal At North Greenville

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – A second half goal by Avery List helped the USCA women's soccer team record a 1-1 tie at North Greenville Wednesday afternoon.

The Pacers are now 0-1-2 on the season.

NGU opened the contest with a pair of shots in the eighth minute, including one that was stopped by keeper Kaydence Moore. In the 23rd and 25th minutes of play, Moore saved a pair of shots, keeping the contest scoreless.

At the 27:35 mark, Lexi Blasberg launched an attempt, but it was just left of the frame. NGU recorded a goal in the 30th minute for a 1-0 lead.

Late in the half, Ellie Garces registered an attempt, but it missed to the right. List's shot at the 43:16 mark was saved, keeping the score the same heading into the break.

After Moore stopped a pair of shots in the first five minutes of the second frame, head coach Adam Kleman's team nearly got on the board, but Mackenzie Cochrane's shot was wide of the frame.

It wasn't until the 74th minute when USCA registered another shot. List gobbled up a loose ball in the box and ripped an attempt to the upper left of the frame and it nestled into the back of the net, knotting the score at 1-1. Brooke Morrison was credited with an assist on the play.

Each team traded attempts spanning the next six minutes of play, but neither was on frame.

With less than 20 seconds to play, USCA earned a corner kick. The ball was played into the box, but Mia Duncan's header sailed high and to the left of the goal, resulting in the tie.

For the match, the Pacers tallied seven shots, including two on frame. USCA garnered eight corner kicks compared to seven by the home team.

Blasberg and List each had a pair of shots. Cochrane, Duncan and Garces all recorded attempts.

In goal, Moore played all 90 minutes and had 10 saves.

The Pacers return to action Saturday when they host Middle Georgia State at 6 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at PacerSports.com.
