Two Net Double Figures Against Augusta

AIKEN, SC – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball team lost a 78-61 contest to the Augusta Jaguars on Saturday.

The Pacers are now 4-18 overall, including 0-12 in PBC play.

Head coach Mark Miller's team was led by Marta Rivera's 19 points and seven rebounds. Jentri Worley added 14 points and three assists. Rhiannon Saller added nine points while Destiny Harman added six points, four boards, and two steals.

Jaya Nelson, Kelsie Woodard, and Paris Webster contributed on defense with four steals collectively.

The Pacers found themselves down 7-0 to start the game until Rivera buried a layup. Worley followed suit with a pair of threes en-route to an eight-point first quarter.

Woodard started the second period with a steal that led to a lay-up on the other end. The Pacers made it a six-point game with 9:21 remaining before halftime. The Jaguars created a 15-6 run of their own that was halted by a Nelson three-pointer. Harman followed up with another three and a steal on the following possession. Worley hit her third three-pointer of the night with five seconds remaining in the quarter sending the Pacers into halftime down by just eight, 39-31.

Saller scored the first points of the third quarter off an offensive rebound. Rivera added four points, and Harman hit her second three-ball to pull within four. An 11-2 run from the Jaguars made it difficult for the Pacers to claw back, but Rivera scored another basket to end the period.

In the fourth quarter, Saller knocked in a basket followed by Rivera's three charity tosses. Worley was fouled on a lay-up where she converted an old fashioned three-point play at the 5:49 mark. The Pacers wouldn't get any closer the rest of the way.

Miller's team finished the game shooting 25-of-63 (39.7 percent) from the floor and six-for-18 (33.3 percent) from beyond the arc. Both teams grabbed 34 rebounds.

The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they host Georgia Southwestern at 5:30 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at PacerSports.com.
