Rabadan Scores In Tie With Lander

AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Lander Monday evening in the regular-season finale.

The Pacers conclude the regular season with a record of 4-6-5, including 1-6-3 in PBC play.

Head coach Nick Sakiewicz's team earned a pair of corner kicks in the fifth minute. The second one resulted in a shot from Kadin DeMesme, but it was blocked. Rafael Kuwakino's attempt seconds later was saved.

In the 12th minute, Jose Rabadan's shot sailed to the left of the goal. Izan Hernandez registered a header in the 26th and 27th minutes, but one was saved while the other narrowly missed the frame.

With less than three minutes to go in the half, USCA recorded a stop and promptly went on the offensive. The Pacers got the ball to Andres Caceres along the right side. He quickly rocketed a shot toward the left side of the frame, but the Bearcats managed to come up with the save.

After gaining possession in the 58th minute of play, Sergio Aspas found Jose Rabadan. The Bearcats' keeper came out of the box and Rabadan took one dribble to the right before blasting a shot into the open net for the 1-0 advantage.

Moments later, Aspas ripped an attempt, but it sailed high of the crossbar. Rafael Kuwakino's attempt in the 82nd minute was saved.

USCA continued to maintain possession, but the Bearcats broke through with a goal at the 85:46 mark.

For the match, USCA totaled 12 shots, including seven on goal. The Pacers earned five corner kicks.

In goal, Felipe Mattos accounted for three saves.

The Pacers return to action in the postseason with the PBC Tournament. The Pacers will travel to No. 3 Flagler.
