AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA women's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision to Clayton State Saturday in the season finale.
The Pacers conclude the season at 3-12-2 overall and 1-8 in PBC play.
Head coach
Adam Kleman's team thwarted the first shot of the contest in the sixth minute of action. The Lakers broke through with a goal in the eighth minute of play.
USCA nearly knotted the contest in the 15th minute of play when
Brooke Salerno rocketed an attempt. However, it hit the crossbar and came down just in front of the end line.
Mackenzie Cochrane blasted a shot at the 24:01 mark, but it was saved, and the score remained at 1-0 entering the second period.
In the 47th minute,
Shy Iles ripped an attempt that was saved by the keeper.
Clayton State pushed the score to 2-0 in the 65th minute of play. A minute later,
Carmen Jones blasted a shot, but it sailed to the left of the frame.
Kleman's squad intercepted numerous passes near the midfield stripe and in the defensive third of the pitch throughout the contest.
For the match, USCA tallied seven shots, including four on goal. The Pacers earned two corner kicks.
Between the pipes,
Kaydence Moore played all 90 minutes and had 13 saves, including several at point-blank range.
