Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The USCA women's soccer team picked up a 3-1 victory at South Carolina State Tuesday evening.
The Pacers are now 3-11-2 on the season.
Head coach
Adam Kleman's team took a 2-0 lead at the break after a strong offensive showing during the first 45 minutes of play.
Brooke Salerno found the back of the net for the first score of the match. She took the set piece from 20 yards out after
Haley Howell was fouled. Salerno promptly rocketed the ball off the post into the back of the net.
USCA pushed the margin to 2-0 when
Brooke Morrison took a service from
Carmen Jones down the left side of the pitch. Morrison one-timed it past the keeper for the two-goal advantage.
Morrison extended the lead to 3-0 early in the second stanza. After a scramble in the box, Morrison controlled the ball and ripped an attempt into the open net.
Kaydence Moore played the first 45 minutes in goal while
Alisha Avila played the second stanza.
It marked USCA's first victory over Division I South Carolina State in the all-time series (1-2-2). The three goals marked a season high for Kleman's team.
