AMERICUS, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball team fell to Georgia Southwestern by a score of 74-40 Wednesday evening.
The Pacers are now 4-11 overall, including an 0-5 ledger in league play.
Head coach
Mark Miller's team was led by
Hailey Unger's team-best 11 points on five-of-nine shooting in 32 minutes of work.
Annalise Malone added eight points and seven rebounds while
Marta Rivera chipped in six points to go along with a pair of rebounds.
Paris Webster accounted for five points while
Jaya Nelson registered four.
Jentri Worley got things going early on, draining a three-point shot off a pass from
Sami Bardonaro. Down 7-3, Worley hit Unger for a shot from distance. With 4:21 to play in the first quarter, Bardonaro connected with Unger for a jumper, giving the visitors an 8-7 lead. GSW finished the frame on an 11-4 run for an 18-12 advantage going into the second stanza.
The home team managed to stretch the margin in the second and third frames en route to the victory.
For the game, Miller's team hit 16 field goals. The squad buried six-of-eight from the charity stripe. Twenty of the team's points came in the paint. The squad also registered 16 points off the bench.
