AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken Assistant Athletic Director Brandon Aiken is pleased to announce the addition of Eric Wehrmann as the Director of Sports Performance.

"I am very excited to bring Eric on board as Director of Sports Performance," Aiken stated. "Eric brings a lot of enthusiasm and experience. I have no doubt he will succeed at providing our athletes high-caliber, quality coaching. I look forward to seeing his positive impact on our student-athletes and coaches."

A graduate of USC Aiken, Wehrmann most recently spent time as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at White Knoll H.S. There, he created programming for all 27 athletic teams. Wehrmann also served as an on-site coach for all pre- and post-football games. While there, he developed exercise and sport sciences courses, teaching students about the basics of healthy lifestyles, including biomechanics, kinesiology, nutrition and physiology. Wehrmann also held oversite duties as six undergraduate interns from the University of South Carolina worked for him. 

At the Hammond School, he directed the performance programming for 20 sports teams while supervising two undergraduate interns. Wehrmann stayed involved on campus, serving as a board member for the Healthy for Life committee. 

He started out as a graduate assistant for sports performance at the University of South Carolina, focusing on Olympic Sports. He directly oversaw all strength and conditioning for men's soccer and men's golf while assisting with athletic performance programming for baseball, track and field, women's soccer, volleyball and tennis.

Wehrmann earned his bachelor of science in exercise and sports science with a minor in business administration at USC Aiken. He earned a Masters of Science in sports management from Liberty in 2019.
