DUE WEST, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team placed four student-athletes in double figures in the 96-58 win at Erskine Friday evening.
The Pacers are now 1-0 on the season.

Mark Vanderslice's team was led by
Tehree Horn's game-high 21 points on nine-of-13 shooting. He added five rebounds and a pair of steals in the victory.
Jameel Rideout contributed 18 points, five boards and two assists.
Demitrios Dixon tallied 14 points on four-of-five shooting from downtown to go along with a two-of-two effort from the charity stripe.
Tyler Johnson chipped in 12 points, three steals and three rebounds.
Jalen McCoy added eight points and four boards while newcomer
Rhyjon Blackwell recorded seven points and five rebounds.
Dwight Canady, Jr., posted six points while
Chedlet Delva (four points),
Devin Evans (three points),
Melvin Archie (two points) and
Simeon German (one point) all reached the scoring column.
The swarming defense at the start of the contest allowed the visitors to jump out to a 15-2 advantage. Leading 4-2 after Erskine made a pair of free throws, Horn and Johnson each converted buckets. With 17:02 to play, Rideout buried a three-point shot for an 11-2 margin. Johnson and Horn each made lay-ups, completing the 11-0 spurt in just 1:45 of action.
The Pacers maintained a 28-20 lead before McCoy converted a hook shot in the paint at the 9:23 mark, pushing the margin to double figures at 30-20. Rideout followed it up with a three-ball off a pass from Horn. Rideout found McCoy for a lay-up at the 8:05 mark. Neither team could find the bottom of the net for more than two minutes of action but McCoy canned a charity toss at the 5:45 mark to get the scoring going once again. Blackwell's jumper completed the spurt as Vanderslice's team held a 39-20 lead with 5:26 to go.
Up 39-25, Dixon and Rideout each drained three-point baskets before Dwight Canady Jr., made a lay-up for a 47-25 lead with 61 ticks before halftime. USC Aiken pushed the advantage to 24 at intermission as Rideout and Horn each made inside shots in the final 40 seconds of action.
Vanderslice's team limited the opposition to a mere nine-of-23 in the opening half (39.1 percent) while the visitors made 21-of-36 from the floor (58.3 percent). The 10 offensive boards in the first half resulted in 11 second-chance points. Additionally, USC Aiken controlled the paint, outscoring the Flying Fleet 30-6 in the first 20 minutes of play.
Horn opened the second half by scoring the first eight points for the Pacers, including six points from downtown. Up 61-38, Canady Jr., made an inside shot. Dixon nailed a step-back jumper before drilling one from behind the arc for a 69-38 advantage.
Leading 84-53 with under three minutes to play, Evans took a pass from Dixon and canned a three-point shot. Canady Jr., hit a jumper before Johnson made both free throws for a 38-point margin at the 2:01 mark. With less than a minute to play, Dixon nailed a three-ball and Archie made a lay-up before the buzzer for the final score.
For the game, USC Aiken buried 35-of-66 (53.0 percent) from the floor, including a stellar 13-of-27 (48.1 percent) from distance. The Pacers controlled the glass, securing 43 rebounds compared to 19 by the Flying Fleet. Vanderslice's team snared 18 offensive boards, which led to 24 second-chance points.
The Pacers converted 14 turnovers into 18 points. The team also held a 42-14 edge in the paint. USC Aiken led for all but 31 seconds in the game.
