Avery List Scores Twice At South Carolina State

ORANGEBURG, S.C.Avery List scored a pair of goals as the University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team closed out the season with a 2-2 tie at Division I South Carolina State Saturday afternoon.

The Pacers conclude the season with a record of 1-8-3.

Head coach Adam Kleman's team got on the board just 8:47 into the contest. After a corner kick from Kenna Souder, Teagan Kersey maintained possession. She found List for an early 1-0 lead. It marked her second goal of the season – and her career.

Emma Gibson saved the first shot she faced and USC Aiken quickly pushed forward. Carmen Jones recorded a shot that finished wide of the frame in the 20th minute. After Souder's attempt sailed to the right, Kersey took a corner kick. Souder took control of the ball and found List for her second goal of the afternoon.

USC Aiken continued applying pressure in the offensive third of the pitch as the squad earned another corner kick. In the 38th minute, Jones nearly made it 3-0 but the keeper managed to pick up a save, sending the contest into halftime at 2-0.

The home team pulled within one in the 58th minute of action. Brooke Salerno's attempt in the 66th minute nailed the crossbar and bounced back into play.

Late in the half, Shiloh Pirro rocketed a pair of attempts, but both were saved.

The Bulldogs knotted the score at 2-2 at the 82:19 mark. Kleman's team had one last chance, which occurred in the 89th minute. Mia Duncan's shot missed wide of the goal and the contest ended in a draw.

For the match, List scored two goals while Kersey and Souder each had an assist. Jones and Pirro had two shots apiece while Coleman, Duncan, Salerno and Souder each had one attempt.

Gibson played all 90 minutes between the pipes and stopped one shot.
