AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball team registered a hard-fought 3-2 win over Lander Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 10-4 on the season and 1-2 in league play. The Bearcats stand at 9-3 on the season at 3-1 against conference foes.

Glenn Cox's team was led by
Emily Lammers' double-double effort with 16 kills and 14 digs.
Sadie McKay added 13 kills and 14 digs while
Anna Sommer garnered 11 kills and seven blocks. At the service line, Lammers had a match-best three aces while
Izabella De Lima and
Kari Mercer each added two.
Mallory Barash dished out 45 assists and had 13 digs for a double-double.
Defensively, Mercer led the charge with 31 digs. De Lima added 12 digs in the win. At the net, Bodick had five total blocks while Barash had three.
USC Aiken held a 13-8 edge on an attack error by the visitors. The Pacers maintained a small margin throughout, but the Bearcats knotted it at 23-23. After falling behind 24-23, an error knotted the set at 24-24. The back-and-forth affair saw Lander take a 27-26 advantage, forcing a time-out by the home team. Following the break in action, Sommer slammed home a pass from Barash. Sommer and Barash combined for a block before an error from Maya Walker gave the Pacers the 29-27 win.
Trailing 21-17 in the third set, an error allowed the Pacers to pull within three. Mercer served up an ace before Schad slammed home a kill. McKay's kill tied the set at 21-21. Down 23-22, Schad answered with a huge kill between two Bearcats.
Cat Bodick recorded a hard-fought kill before a long set forced another error by LU for the 25-23 victory for the home squad.
After Lander won the fourth set, Cox's team started the fifth frame with a 6-2 spurt. During the run, Sommer had a kill as well as a block assist with Barash. Leading 6-5, Sommer had another kill. Lammers served up an ace. A kill by McKay and an error by Lander pushed the score to 10-5. Leading 12-7, McKay slammed home a kill. Up 13-8, Bodick registered a solo block. Bodick put the match away with another kill in the 15-8 win.
