Box Score AMERICUS, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost a 5-1 decision at Georgia Southwestern Saturday evening.
The Pacers are now 1-2 on the season, including 1-1 in league play.
USC Aiken recorded a corner kick in the sixth minute, but the team was unable to record a shot during the possession.
Tyler Hughes turned away shot from the Hurricanes in the 14
th minute of action and again in the 17
th minute of play.
GSW found the back of the net in the 27
th minute for a 1-0 lead going into the second half.
Hippolyte Denis tried to tie the match in the 57
th minute but it was saved. The home team scored the match-winning goal a moment later.
GSW added two more scores before
Jaymee Kambel broke through for a goal at the 86:42 mark.
The Hurricanes added a late goal for the final margin.
For the match, USC Aiken tallied eight shots, including five on goal. Hughes registered four saves in the contest while playing all 90 minutes between the pipes.
