DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball team lost 69-48 at No. 11 North Georgia Saturday.
The Pacers finish the season at 8-18 overall and 4-14 against PBC teams.
Head coach
Mark Miller's team was led by
Chidinma Okafor's 16 points and five rebounds. She also added three blocks.
Allycia Harris added 11 points and eight boards.
Madison Williams contributed seven points and a pair of assists.
Delaney Trushel and
Grace Crawford had five points apiece.
McKenzie Lott and
Yasmine Fairchild had two points each.
Down 7-4 in the first quarter, Crawford found Okafor for a lay-up. Okafor hit another inside shot for a one-point edge. Trailing 12-8, Harris netted the next three points, pulling within one heading into the second stanza.
The Nighthawks led 35-22 at the break, but Miller's team continued to push the home squad. For the entire second half, USC Aiken went toe-to-toe with the nationally-ranked foe.
For the game, USC Aiken hit 16-of-51 from the floor (31.4 percent). The team was excellent at the charity stripe, canning 13-of-14 (92.9 percent). The Pacers distributed 12 assists on the 16 field goals. USC Aiken blocked four shots compared to just two by the Nighthawks.
