Pacers Take Down Patriots, 6-4

FLORENCE, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team notched a 6-4 win at Francis Marion Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference contest.

The Pacers are now 4-2 on the season while the Patriots fall to 5-1.

Jeff Cyr led off the game with a single to center field and moved to second on Sean McQuillan's sacrifice bunt. Two batters later, rookie Dalton Graves pushed him home on a base knock to right field.

Jackson Hannon's double down the left field line scored Cyr. McQuillan crossed home on a sacrifice fly by Graves. Two batters later, PBC Freshman of the Week Josh Sharp's base hit on the first pitch he saw scored Hannon for a 4-0 edge.

USC Aiken tacked on two runs in the fourth. Graves ripped a pitch through the left side that scored Cyr. Kaden Blankenship followed him up with a hit that plated Hannon.

The Patriots managed to plate a run in the fourth and three in the fifth, but the pitching and defense held the home squad down the stretch.
