DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost a 4-0 contest at North Georgia Tuesday in the first round of the PBC Tournament.
The Pacers conclude the season at 2-13-1.
Jaymee Kambel led the way with three shots, including two on goal.
Kadin DeMesme,
Hippolyte Denis and
Uri-Malcolm Young had a shot on goal apiece.
The Nighthawks were awarded a penalty kick in the 17
th minute and converted it for what turned out to be the match-winning goal. The home squad pushed the margin to 2-0 in the 24
th minute of play.
Malcolm-Young had a brilliant attempt that was saved at the 39:23 mark.
Just seconds into the final period of play,
Davide Panucci rocketed a shot toward the frame that narrowly missed the crossbar. In the 47
th minute, Denis' attempt was thwarted by the keeper.
Within a 16-second span, DeMesme and Kambel blasted shots on frame, but both were turned away.
Mohamed Abdallah rocketed a shot that sailed high in the 55
th minute of action. Kambel's attempt in the 58th minute was saved.
The home team managed to tack on a pair of late goals for the final tally.
For the match,
Cason Donahue played all 90 minutes between the pipes and registered four saves.
