FRANKLN SPRINGS, Ga. –
Delaney Trushel,
Emily Trushel and
Jentri Worley all scored in double figures Wednesday evening as the University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball team posted a 78-51 victory at Emmanuel.
The Pacers are now 1-2 on the season while the Lions stand at 0-3.
Worley poured in a career-high 28 points while
Delaney Trushel and
Emily Trushel added 26 and 13 points, respectively. Worley hit nine-of-17 from the floor, including five-of-eight from distance. She also distributed seven assists and snagged five boards.
Delaney Trushel hit 10-of-15 from the field, including six-of-nine from downtown.
Emily Trushel connected on four-of-eight from the floor, including three-of-four from behind the three-point line and distributed five assists.
Chidinma Okafor tallied four points while
Ireona Brooks and
Allycia Harris added three apiece.
Madison Williams scored one point and snagged a team-best seven boards.
Grace Crawford dished out four assists in the win.
Head coach
Mark Miller's team scored 28 points in the second quarter, which tied for the sixth most in a quarter in school history. It also marked the second-most points a Pacer squad has ever scored in the second quarter. The nine points USC Aiken allowed in the first quarter marked the 10
th-fewest points given up in the first quarter in school history.
Delaney Trushel took a pass from Williams and drained a three-point bucket just 2:57 into the game for an 8-1 edge. Leading 8-7,
Emily Trushel buried a pair of free throws before finding Worley for a three-ball for a 13-7 advantage with 1:39 to go in the quarter. Worley connected with
Delaney Trushel for a three-point basket, giving the squad a 16-7 lead going into the second quarter.
Worley found
Emily Trushel for another shot from distance for a 21-9 margin less than a minute into the second frame. Up 21-16, Worley took a pass from
Mackenzie Cochrane and hit a three-point shot. Worley buried another three-ball as
Emily Trushel was credited with an assist. Crawford found
Delaney Trushel for a jumper for a 16-point lead.

Emily Trushel ended the scoring at the half as Miller's squad held a 44-21 lead.
The Lions made it a 20-point game at 50-30 only to see Worley drain a three-ball and
Delaney Trushel convert a lay-up in a 34-second span to push the margin to 25, 55-30. Moments later, Crawford found Okafor for a lay-up for a 60-32 advantage. USC Aiken ended the quarter with a 60-34 and cruised to the 27-point victory.
For the game, Miller's team buried 26-of-58 from the floor (44.8 percent), including 15-of-26 from downtown (57.7 percent). The 15 made three-point baskets marked the second most in school history (tied with 15 three-point field goals against Shaw on Nov. 23, 2016). USC Aiken pulled down 33 rebounds and dished out 23 assists in the win.
The Pacers return to action Saturday when they play at Winston-Salem State at 2 p.m.
