USC Aiken Rounds Out Incoming Class
AIKEN, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken, in conjunction with head men's basketball coachÂ
Mark Vanderslice, is pleased to announce the addition of
Jalen Knight.
"Jalen is about as tough and hard-nosed of a competitor as it gets," Vanderslice stated. "We are thrilled about his addition to our roster. He's a 'do-it-all' guard that possesses an arsenal of weapons on both ends of the court.
"As a highly skilled ball handler, Jalen has a great talent for manufacturing a variety of angles on the offensive end," Vanderslice continued. "Combined with his scoring and passing ability, his team-first mentality will allow us to expose secondary defenders at a high level. Jalen's been well taught and coached and we expect that he will be fully equipped for Peach Belt play."
The 6-0 junior guard is a native of Charlotte, N.C. After playing at West Charlotte and United Faith Christian Academy, where he netted 24 points per game, Knight played at Hartford during his freshman campaign. That season, he saw action in 12 contests, netting three points in his collegiate debut against Gordon College. Knight converted 50 percent of his shots from the floor on the year, including nailing his lone three-point attempt.
He played at Georgia Highlands as a sophomore. Knight accounted for 14.6 points, 5.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds a game.
