YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken softball team lost a pair of games to Young Harris by scores of 8-0 and 6-0.
The Pacers are now 21-27 on the season and 3-15 in league play.
Down 3-0 in the top of the third,
Courtney Strauss pounded out a base hit on a 2-2 pitch. However, she was left stranded.
Hannah Price led off the fourth by smacking the first pitch she saw up the middle for a single.
Caroline Cockrell drew a walk to put runners on first and second.
Maci Hutto laid down a sacrifice bunt, pushing the runners in scoring position.
Katie Painter reached on a fielder's choice that erased Price at home.
Leah Boghosian, who came in as a pinch runner, moved to third. A ground ball ended the threat.
USC Aiken trailed 5-0 in the top of the sixth and once again threatened to slice into the deficit.
Katelyn Powell singled and moved to second on a walk to Cockrell, but back-to-back outs ended the stanza.
The Mountain Lions managed to score three runs in the bottom of the frame for the 8-0 win.
In game two, USC Aiken trailed 2-0 in the second inning.
Sydney Burk drew a two-out walk, but was unable to advance.

Jerry Snyder's team threatened in the fourth. With one away, Price laced a single to the shortstop.
Deja Robinson came in as a pinch runner but was erased trying to steal second. Strauss doubled to left field, but a groundout ended the inning. In the fifth,
Maci Hutto reached first on a wild pitch on what would have been strike three. She rushed to second on another wild pitch, but could not get any closer to home.
Strauss singled off the first pitch she saw in the seventh and promptly moved to second on a wild pitch. However, the Mountain Lions were able to prevent any runs from being scored.
For the game, Strauss had two hits, including a double. Price accounted for a hit and Burk walked.
