DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken softball team lost a pair of games at No. 4 North Georgia Friday by scores of 6-0 and 10-0.
The Pacers are now 21-25 on the season.
After being no-hit in the first game,
Katelyn Powell registered the team's first base hit in the top of the second stanza of game two. Powell took a 1-2 pitch and ripped it down the left field line to start things in the second. With two down, Powell swiftly stole second, but was left stranded after a foul pop-up ended the inning.
Katie Painter drew a two-out walk in the third, but USC Aiken was unable to push her into scoring position. Head coach
Jerry Snyder's team did not have another base runner until
Sydney Burk registered a two-out walk in the fifth.
The home team took the lead with a six-run second inning and added four more in the third as the game went five innings.
