AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 38 University of South Carolina Aiken lost a 7-0 contest to No. 28 Flagler Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 12-2 on the season and 4-2 in league play. The Saints improve to 10-5 on the season and 5-1 against league foes.
In doubles action, head coach
Steve Dahm's team gave the home squad put forth a solid effort. At No. 1,
Elena Bompieri and
Teresa Franco Dias lost a 7-6 decision. Second-seeded
Alice Neves and
Victoria Giannaccini dropped a 6-2 contest.
In singles action, Bompieri had a nail-biting match at No. 1. After dropping the first set 7-5, Bompieri came back with a 6-2 win before falling 10-8 in the third set.
Karina Blas, playing at No. 5, dropped a hard-fought 7-6, 7-5 match.
The Pacers return to action Friday, April 5 when they host Georgia College at 1 p.m.
