AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team defeated Young Harris by a 4-1 score Saturday.
The Pacers are now 2-11 on the season and 2-6 in league play. The Mountain Lions are 6-7 overall and 5-3 against conference competition.

Hilary George's team took a commanding 3-0 lead with an outstanding first half. At the 7:07 mark,
Marianne Ross found the back of the net off a pass from
Willa Olson.
Mia Maupin was also credited with an assist on the play.
USC Aiken notched a 2-0 advantage when Maupin launched a shot at the 16:08 mark. Just 72 seconds later
Gressa Olson pushed the score to 3-0 off another shot from 10 yards out.
Ross nearly made it 4-0 when her attempt from 20 yards out hit the crossbar. The Pacers continued to attack throughout the remainder of the half, controlling the possession en route to the 3-0 halftime advantage.
YHC pulled within two in the 49
th minute of action. However, it was as close as the visitors could get with stellar defensive play from
Madi Banks and the rest of George's squad. With just 1:19 left to play,
Paige D'Agostin beat the defender for the final tally of the night.
For the match, USC Aiken maintained an 18-12 edge in shots, including a 14-9 edge in shots on goal.
Banks recorded eight saves in the victory.
The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they play at Lander. The match is slated to start at 7:30 p.m.
